1) Linksys E4200 routers have two hardware versions, v1 and v2. Version 1 does not require a username, while version 2 requires the default username as admin.

2) Linksys Velop's Wi-Fi mesh router is controlled via Linksys application, so you don't need to know the IP address or username or password of the Velop router.

What to do when Linksys default data above doesn't work?

You really have only one option when the Linksys device's default password or default username has been changed and you don't know what they are: Reset the device to the factory default configuration.

For most Linksys devices, restore the original settings easily by pressing and holding the tiny Reset button for at least 10 seconds (30 seconds on older models) and then unplugging and then plugging the device back in. .

If that doesn't work, check your router or other device user guide, where you'll find specific advice for that Linksys model.

You can find your device's user guide in PDF format from Linksys Support.

Restoring the original installation will also return the IP address configured for your Linksys device to 192.168.1.1 or any possible default value, but doing so may cause problems.

If the Linksys router's IP address is all you have, remember that it is similar to the default port (which is configured for your computer and other devices connected to it).
